Did you know up until 1940, women were arrested for wearing pants in public? And that it wasn’t until 1972 that girls were guaranteed the right to wear pants to school?  Female newscasters, flight attendants, and even congresswomen have had to fight to wear pants.

Ann Taylor has been inspired by the incredible outpouring of women marching in solidarity and demanding equality.  They believe the right pants are powerful, and at Ann Taylor, we design our pants to make women feel her absolute, most powerful best.

As we approach National Women’s History Month, Ann Taylor will launch a video campaign that pays tribute to the powerful women in the workplace and the women who fought for their right to wear pants. The video follows the relationship between women and pants through history, from 1940 when pants were illegal for women, to present day where we can wear them whenever, wherever.  A great pair of pants is a wardrobe staple for us all, but they stand for so much more than that.

Take a look at the video HERE anntaylor.com/ourpants– it will definitely make you think a bit deeper next time you put on a pair of pants.
