Stylin' & Profiling: Nancy Rahman of The Chicago Chic

Name: Nancy Rahman

Profession: Editor, The Chicago Chic

Favorite Color: White

Least Favorite Color: Neon Green

Style Description: My style changes over time. At first, I really liked European classic and from there went into high fashion. Now I’m embracing minimalism for the last 6 years and have been quite fond of slow fashion. But you’ll also find me in bohemian harem pants when I’m relaxed.

Style Icon: Several but I’ll settle for Jane Birkin for now

Favorite Designers/Brands: Always a huge fan of Jil Sander and currently I adore Mercedes Castillo’s work among many other emerging designers. We are spoilt for creativity and design

Least Favorite Designers/Brands: Cavalli

Favorite Shoe Style: Pointy Toe and casual sneakers

Least Favorite Shoe Style: Chunky wedge

What You Love to Wear: Generally a simple knee length dress

What You Hate to Wear: Linen Pants, tailored Vests and shoulder pads

What You are Afraid to Wear: Nothing!

What Do You Wear to Work: I like wearing comfortable fabrics. But you’ll always find me in comfortable yet stylish trousers and a simple top or vice versa. I prefer repetitive, geometric pattern over complex graphics and structure over draping- professional yet stylish.

Do You Like to Accessorize? Yes, Scarves and earrings

Favorite Stores/Boutiques: Farfetch

Style/Fashion Tips and/or Advice: Slow and/or classic style is best, when in doubt. Red lipstick and pointy toe kitten heels are super chic at any point of day. Don’t be afraid of color.

Fall/Winter Style Must-Have: A good investment coat and a stylish scarf, preferably with bright colors to balance the (usually) dark outwear
