Tell us About Your Business:
We raise money by accepting and reselling Designer Donations online and at pop-up events. We also have a branded clothing and accessory line that is in early stages of development. We know from experience that the cost of cancer is overwhelming, and we knew we could do something about it in a fun and creative way. Fashion Funds the Fight!
How Do You Dress on The Day to Day for Your Business? Why Do You Think How You Dress is Important?
We each have our own unique styles, but all agree that your personal styling and image dramatically affects your inner confidence and joy! Our day to day fashion has definitely changed with the pandemic, and yoga pants and a cute top is our go-to. But we love when we have a Zoom meeting and it gives us an excuse to do our hair and throw on a great statement necklace!
Favorite Color:
All three of us agree that BLACK is the foundation of any great wardrobe, but we each have a signature color that we sprinkle in the most. Shelly’s is the perfect shade of pale pink, Katy is the bravest in the color palette and isn’t afraid of any color in the rainbow, Kerry’s favorite is the perfect shade of Tiffany Blue!
Style Description:
Katy is our most eclectic when it comes to her style. She isn’t afraid to mix bohemian and biker, and always looks like a million bucks! Shelly is a classic beauty. She loves a great tweed jacket paired with lace and pearls. But have no doubt, she is brave often surprises us with an edgy piece or two! Kerry definitely has a “uniform” she is a lover of denim and a blazer, but likes to keep it fresh with a fabulous pair of boots and a statement necklace!
Style Icon:
Shelly identifies with and idolizes the look of Rachel Zoe and Sarah Jessica Parker, circa Carrie Bradshaw. Katy loves Nicole Richie and her House of Harlow, and the effortless style of Kate Moss paired with the iconic style Edie Sedgwick. Kerry loves the clean classic looks of Jennifer Aniston and Victoria Beckham.
Who are your Favorite and Least Favorite Designers:
We like to focus on the positive! There are just too many to list! We just love style! All of it! Even if it isn’t something we would wear, we appreciate the art and the beauty of design! Right now we are really focused on up-and coming designers and try to support people trying to break into the fashion world!
Heels or Flats:
Well, right now we are rocking our flats most of the time. But, mark our words, any excuse to put on a great heel we are on board!
Favorite Trend (Past or Present):
We all three love classic, timeless style. Thankfully that has staying power!
Least Favorite Trend (Past or Present):
Nineties hair. The end.
What You Refuse to Wear:
Katy and Shelly aren’t big fans of their legs, so short skirts, and short dresses are OUT! Kerry will never be caught in an animal print of ANY kind!
Favorite Local Stores/Boutiques:
We are very lucky to be able to travel, and we have favorites in so many cities. We love and support ALL small business owners who are making their mark in the fashion industry!
Style/Fashion Tips and/or Advice:
Don’t be afraid to try something new. Take your stylists advice- try it on, they are usually right. Don’t be afraid of the thing that looks ugly on the hanger. But, also, when you find something that looks great, and makes you feel great- buy more!!!
Stylish Aspirations:
We believe everyone should aspire to a wardrobe filled with wonderful pieces that they get true joy from wearing. Donate everything else! We know somewhere you can send the rest.
Spring/Summer Must-Have:
Katy’s are a fabulous Maxi dress, a great pair of cutoffs and signature shades. Shelly loves her favorite wedge sandal with a flowy floral dress. Kerry is at home in her aviator sunglasses, denim shorts and a great tank.
Any Fun Collaborations Events You Have Coming Up?
We are launching an incredible virtual event in July. It is the first annual Fashion Fun Run/ Walk fundraiser. We are encouraging people to dress up, lace up their tennis shoes, and run/walk a 5k, 10k, or half marathon! More information can be found on our Facebook page and website!
Any Advice to Other Female Entrepreneurs?
Be brave. Don’t listen to ANYONE who says it isn’t a good idea or that you cannot accomplish your dream. YOU can do it. But know that you will have setbacks, but it is how you deal with those setbacks that will set you up for success.
