Favorite Color: I barely wear anything but neutrals. Black, dark gray, and olive green are my go-tos.
Least Favorite Color: I’m not super into bright colors from head-to-toe right now, although I love a pop of any color. I suppose I’ve never really been into wearing purple though.
Style Description: Casual, comfortable, and cool. Give me basics, a little leopard print, and some statement accessories, and I’m set.
Style Icon: Lucy Williams (blogger), Haley Boyd (Creative Director of Marais USA), Linda Rodin, and the forever-chic Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
Favorite Designers/Brands: I’m really into Madewell – they make the best sweaters and dresses. I love AG jeans. I’m always into what Rebecca Minkoff is doing. And as far as an aspirational designer, you can’t go wrong with Gucci. They are killing the game.
Least Favorite Designers/Brands: As long as the fit and quality are nice, I’m really open to anything! I always find the most amazing pieces at the places I least expect to.
Favorite Shoe Style: Mules (heels or flats) and slide-on sandals.
Least Favorite Shoe Style: I’m pretty open to most styles, but can’t really see myself getting into wedges this spring/summer.
What You Love to Wear: My distressed girlfriend jeans from AG, a giant, slouchy gray sweater from Madewell, and Michael Kors crocodile mules. They are my absolute favorites.
What You Hate to Wear: Growing up, I loved any chance I got to dress up. Now, not so much. Anything fussy just feels wrong.
What You are Afraid to Wear: Culottes and wide-leg pants. I love how they look on other people but always feel self-conscious in them myself.
What is Work Appropriate/Your Typical Workplace Attire: I typically wear dark jeans, a blouse with some kind of cool detail, or a t-shirt with a slouchy sweater/jacket, black boots or mules, and gold layered necklaces or hoops.
Do You Like to Accessorize (Jewelry, Scarves, etc.)? Love it. I’m really into gold statement earrings and dainty chokers at the moment. I also recently got a little red scarf with flowers printed on it from Kate Spade – it’s so cute and feels trendy yet classic at the same time.
Favorite Stores/Boutiques: I do a lot of online shopping – Madewell, ASOS, Aritzia, and Zara are my favorites. I’m always up for a trip to Nordstrom. And Hyde Park is a great local boutique I love.
Style/Fashion Tips and/or Advice: 1. Stay away from anything you’re uncomfortable in, no matter how “in style” it may seem – your discomfort will dominate the look. 2. Turns out, less really is more. 3. There’s no need to try every trend – just do the ones that speak to you and flatter your look.
Stylish Aspirations: I just want to slowly morph into Linda Rodin.
Spring Style Must-Have: It’s all about beauty right now. I recommend everything Glossier.
