By Grace Owen (Styling Assistant)

As 2021 comes to a close we can look eagerly at the next year ahead. I think we can all agree we are ready to put 2021 behind us, I mean it seems like we are still reeling from 2020 too but there is light at the end of the tunnel! The new year brings new opportunities and possibilities to all areas of our lives. The bounds are limitless but what will it bring? Perhaps the most exciting thing to daydream about is what new fashion trends will we see throughout this fresh year. Here is our pick of 6 unexpected fashion trends to hold you over.

Jumpsuits

I know it can be hard to picture ourselves in a form-fitting jumpsuit right after we ate our way through the holidays but believe me, they will be there. I love a good jumpsuit because all you have to do is just add some jewelry and boom killer outfit complete.

Oversized Blazers

This past year we have seen a lot of miniature or fitted items but next year big will be back. Its definitely too cold to rock one of these without a big coat covering it but but come spring it will be perfect. Pair your oversized blazer with a pair of jeans or a dress or really anything due to its simplicity and versatility.

Bra Tops

Hide your eyes nana because bra tops are in. I’ve been seeing these everywhere. Comfortable? Functional? Not sure, but they are unexpected. Once it gets warmer little bra tops and oversized shirts will be all the rage.

Vibrant Color Blocks

We can’t be too surprised bold colors are still in as it follows a year full of 70’s groovy design throwbacks. In 2022 however, more single blocked color pieces will be everywhere. They are certainly a statement piece and bring a lot of life to any outfit.

Platforms

From sandals to heels platforms are strutting into 2022 like no ones business. It might seem like platforms are too much but the trend reports too much platform is never enough. Add a couple of inches to stand strong throughout the year.
